For two days in April, Church House became the venue for the preparation meetings prior to the G20 summit held at ExCeL London Thursday 2nd April 2009.
Delegates from all the represented countries as well as the associated bodies such as the IMF spent the two days prior to the main summit with us at
Church House working in to the small hours of the morning drafting the documents in preparation for the main meeting.
The location and secure nature of the venue made it an ideal choice for the high level meetings leading up to main summit. Delegates were able to come
and go at ease with up to 150 being involved at the busiest times.
Robin Parker commented; "The two days of meetings organised by the Cabinet Office gave us all a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes at
such a large scale international event. Meetings which took place throughout the day and night eventually concluded at 4.00am on Thursday morning when
organisers left to go directly to ExCeL for the main summit meetings."
He continued; "As a conference centre you always want to be involved in high profile events and it was great to see the team here react to what was
a very demanding event in such a positive way, working extremely long hours whilst still maintaining a fantastic level of customer service."
